The United Kingdom by contrast has a population of approximately of 60,000,000 in an area of 95,000 square miles.
Spain is a democracy and now has the eighth largest economy in the world. The mainland of Spain is divided in to 17 autonomous regions, greater regional power has been granted to those provinces that are traditionally more independent, the Basque country, Galacia & Catalonia. These local regions are responsible for education, health and regional transport. Although most Britons would only consider visiting the South Coast resort areas, inland Spain is now becoming more and more popular, it is here that you may get a glimpse of the real Spain
