It has a population of nearly 900,000 and nearly three quarters these people live in the capital city. This beautiful region of Spain offers a wide diversity of landscapes and architecture and there is something for everyone here. Holiday home ownership is not widespread by any property located near Zaragosa city will give the occupants access to a modern cosmopolitan city whilst retaining the feel of being away from it all. This area has a warm Mediterranean climate and you will find a healthy amount of property in this region that is ripe for conversion in to modern dwelling houses. Visitors simply love this province. The scenery is very varied: from the foothills of the Pyrenees to the high, snow-capped peaks of El Moncayo in the Iberian mountains. There are also vast wheat growing plains and beautiful valleys. Of all the territories that make up Aragon, this has the, most to offer the person that wishes to settle in this part of Spain. Zaragoza city is located 240 meters above sea level, on the right margin of the Ebro mid Valley. Situated between Barcelona & Madrid, this city became known as a passing through city, many people have stopped here but only for a short space of time and have thus missed some of it’s many wonderful delights Towards the end of the 1st century the ancient site of Salduba was captured by the Romans and was remained Caesaraugusta after the roman emperor known as Saraqustah by the Arabs, The modern city name is a fusion of these two names. Strategically this location was an important bridgehead and civilisation after civilisation has left there imprint within the city walls, in fact sections of the city wall constructed by the Romans 2000 years ago can still be viewed today Zaragosa city is the capital of this area and it is the fifth largest city in the whole of Spain, located middle way between Madrid and Barcelona. Zaragosa is the city where you will find located the regions political and economic institutions. This city has a lot to offer visitors, you will find it very cosmopolitan and the inhabitants are very welcoming, various cultures influence this wonderful city and there is much evidence of the former roman occupation, in fact over 2000 years of history arte contained within it’s walls and there is evidence of occupation by Roman, Christian, Muslim, Jewish & Arabic cultures. Zaragaosa is a very modern city, it employs people in the service sectors whilst there is wealth of industry located in it’s suburbs. Zaragosa has excellent transport links; it is easy to reach other parts of Spain from here. It has a modern somewhat underused airport which boasts the largest landing strips in Spain. The eternal city of Zaragoza, is a dynamic, welcoming metropolis, every street is bathed in history. The old quarter of the city is full of stunning palaces, museums and monuments The Basilica of Pilar is a must see, it is one of the most important sanctuaries of the catholic world, with thousands of pilgrims visiting every year. Another place to visit is the Moorish palace of Aljaferia – a magical castle built for the Arab sultans in the late 11th century but now providing a home to the regional assembly of Aragon. The palace was used by the catholic monarchs King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella who designed and built a fabulous throne room for their use in the 15th century. It has seen many changes since it’s construction but it is still recognized as one of the finest and best preserved examples of Moorish architecture in the whole of Spain. The palace complex includes a mosque, courtyard, several fountains, and some remarkable interlocking arches.
